Marlborough lab seeks to open state’s fourth marijuana testing facility
MARLBOROUGH – A local laboratory is seeking to become the fourth independent marijuana testing facility in the state.
Indo Laboratories is seeking a community host agreement and special permit to operate an independent testing laboratory on Simarano Drive. Once a community host agreement and special permit is approved by the city, the company can submit an application with the state’s Cannabis Control Commission to be licensed as an independent testing laboratory, said Nicholas Masso, CEO of Indo Laboratories.
There is a significant need for more independent marijuana testing laboratories in the state to keep up with the booming demand. Masso said there are nearly 200 marijuana licenses in the state, but just three testing facilities.
